On June 12, 14 scientific research achievements of WUST were awarded at the Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Award Conference.
Ni Hongwei, the president, and Deng Chengji, Zhou Zhihui and Li Weigang, the three first prize-winning project leaders attended the conference.
Eight scientific research achievements made by WUST won the Scientific and Technological Progress Award of Hubei Province in 2019, among which three won the first prize, three won the second prize, and two won the third prize; in addition, six scientific research achievements participated by WUST won the second and third prizes.
WUST ranked first among the universities in Hubei in terms of the number of first prizes.
Ying Yong, the secretary of Provincial Party Committee presented awards to the winners of the Outstanding Contribution Award, and relevant provincial party committee leaders presented award certificates to the representatives who won the Provincial Natural Science Award, Scientific and Technological Invention Award, Scientific and Technological Progress Award, Achievement Promotion Award, and Enterprise Innovation Award in 2019.
In recent years, WUST has vigorously advanced the reform of scientific research system, continuously advanced scientific research to focus on national strategies as well as local economic and social development, strengthened the process management of scientific research projects, actively encouraged and guided researchers to apply for projects and awards, vigorously promoted the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, vigorously carried forward the cultivation of landmark achievements, and continuously enhanced the core competitiveness of scientific research.
It is reported that there were 326 winners of the Provincial Science and Technology Award in 2019, including one winner of the Award for Outstanding Contribution to Science and Technology, 28 winners of the Natural Science Award, 27 winners of the Technological Invention Award, 244 winners of Scientific and Technological Progress Award, 11 winners of the Award for the Promotion of Scientific and Technological Achievements, and 15 winners of the Invention Award for Science and Technology-Based SMEs.
