U.S. News Released 2023 Best Global Universities Ranking, WUST Listed Among Global Top 1000

 On October 25, U.S. News & World Report released the 2023 Best Global Universities Ranking, with Wuhan University of Science and Technology (WUST) ranked 964th, up by 131 positions over the last year, marking WUST's first entry into global top 1000.

It is also WUST's another success on the global top 1000 list following its presence on the Academic Ranking of World Universities (1000 institutions in total) released by Shanghai Ranking in August 2021.

The U.S. News 2023 Best Global Universities Ranking sees 382 Chinese universities on the list, including 338 from Mainland China, 7 from Hong Kong, 2 from Macao, and 35 from Taiwan. Chinese universities have made remarkable progress over the last year.

As one of the four most recognized and authoritative world university rankings, the U.S. News Best Global Universities Ranking is valued by various countries and universities and has gradually become an authoritative indicator to measure the strength of a university.

The indicators of the U.S. News Best Global Universities Ranking this year weigh as follows: global research reputation (12.5%), regional research reputation (12.5%), publications (10%), books (2.5%), conferences (2.5%), normalized citation impact (10%), total citations (7.5%), number of publications that are among the top 10% most cited (12.5%), percentage of total publications that are among the top 10% most cited (10%), international collaboration, including those relative to country (10%), number of highly cited papers that are among the top 1% most cited in their respective field (5%), and percentage of total publications that are among the top 1% most cited papers (5%).
